The following information applies to EATs in California and Missouri; EAT UK has somewhat different parameters.

money basics

Sliding scale tuition varies for every course.

Please register early by paying a deposit on your tuition (details below). Deposits are one half of whichever sliding scale pricing you choose, and we need to have yours in hand before we can consider you registered for the course.

Tuition balance for all registrants is due by the registration deadline, that is, one month before the session. Really. If you're not paid up by the deadline, you may lose your reserved space. (This includes those accepted for work-trade/scholarship.) If you are registered and need a little more time, please contact us for options. EarthActivistTraining(at)gmail.com

To apply after the registration deadline, email us first about space availability. Then send the entire tuition with your registration form. If the session is full by time it's received, you'll be placed on waiting list and your check will not be cashed unless a space opens for you.

Loans for tuition are available at favorable rates from the Permaculture Credit Union. Details are on the loans page.

deposit

The deposit reserves your space in the EAT course. It is nonrefundable for any reason. However, with enough notice, we can switch your registration to a different session. In the unlikely event that we cancel a session, all monies paid, including your deposit, will be refunded.

People requesting a work-trade/scholarship may not apply without paying the deposit.

We ask folks to email us with their registration form and a note stating that their deposit is in the mail. In the case or work trade or scholarship applications we also require a personal letter (see work trade scholarships page); However, we will be adding an alternate method for online registration payments soon.

We understand that many of the very people we most want in the course—activists, youth, small farmers, people from poor communities— just don't have a lot of money. So we work hard to make this training accessible. A limited number of EAT work-trade/
scholarships are available to help. Currently between 40-50% of our students receive work-trade assistance.

If you're interested in applying for a work-trade/ scholarship, please carefully read the work-trade/ scholarship page for detailed information on how to apply.
