EAT UK celebrates high summer in the green hills of western England.
This is a space for activists to take time out and
reconnect with
the Earth and each other.
Location: Ragmans Lane Farm is
60 acres by the river Wye, in the forest of Dean. Run for
the past 12 years as a working permaculture farm, Ragmans
boasts a fine pond for summer swimming, solar electricity,
two greenhouses/conservatories, a fire pit, a solar shower,
and even a hot tub!
Ragmans Lane Farm
The accommodation is clean and comfortable but quite basic. Students
have a choice of staying either in a bunkhouse or camping
out. Sleeping
bags or bedding are needed in any case.
There are three small dorms, including a beautifully
converted 400-year-old
timber-framed barn. The barn also holds the indoor dining
room. Nearby
is a small, flat camping area. Bring your own tent. Camping
in a truck
or van may be possible, but please talk to us first, as it
must be approved
by Ragmans' staff. No dogs are allowed on site. We do not have
creche facilities, as we will be working from 9:00 am to
9:00 pm most days fairly intensively. If you would like
instead to stay
in a nearby B&B (at extra cost) let us know and we can give you
details.

Meals: Meals will be very yummy,
mostly vegan but some vegetarian food. We will be able to
cater for gluten free/other special diets if you tell us in
advance. Food will also be organic as far as possible. As
the course is so intense we will not be asking you to do too
much in the way of washing up, etc., but we will ask you to
keep the space tidy, and to help us to clear up on the last
day of the course.
